This week is the final match in the 2v2 Tournament of Terror, between xor and nsn. That's kenny and solitary vs Hova and window. Xor is definitely going to be the favorite for this, so I'm interested to see what the underdogs nsn can pull off here.
The map is Casa.
Tourney is wrapping up
With the 2v2 tourney now wrapping up, we can look back and evaluate it. Only 14 of the 24 group portion matches were played. The playoffs are going much better, with all but 1 of the matches being played so far.
The culprits for the poor turnout in the group portion are most likely things like inexperienced clan members, or people signing up who weren't really active enough and interested enough. I think that the week long open scheduling, which works so well for 1v1, isn't something that works well with 2v2. Also, the group portion format, of having each team pick a map, and having the possibility of tie games, is something that just complicated things further.
So most likely next season we will be changing the format to a specified day and time (just like how STA is) and having a specific weekly map instead of giving players a choice.
Despite the issues, this has been an overall success, and I think what we'll find is the same thing as what happened in the 1v1 tourney, which is that the first season didn't go as smoothly and had more forfeits, and the 2nd season will go a lot more smoothly as we refine the way we do things, and clans learn how things work here. |

Matches are set up- get this round played by next Thursday (July 24). Remember, the default time for playing is 10pm on Thursday so if no other times work, this is a good date to set aside.
